Data Processing Information

This privacy policy informs you about the key aspects of data processing on our website. We collect and process personal data only in accordance with legal requirements (GDPR, Austrian Telecommunications Act 2003).

When you access or visit our website, your IP address, session start and end times are recorded. This is technically necessary and constitutes a legitimate interest under Art 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Contact

When you contact us via our contact form or email, the data you provide will be stored for six months to process your inquiry. Your data will not be shared without your consent.

Cookies

This website does not use cookies. No tracking cookies, no marketing cookies, and no functional cookies are set.

Web Analytics (Umami)

To see which content actually gets read, I collect anonymous usage statistics with Umami. The software does not run at an advertising company but on an own server at umami.ittrail.cloud, operated by IT-Trail GmbH. The data never leaves that server.

  • No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device.
  • Your IP address is not stored. It is processed only briefly, to derive an anonymous identifier for the current day.
  • That identifier changes daily, so you cannot be recognised across several days.
  • No user profile is created, and there is no tracking across other websites.

Only aggregated details are recorded: the page visited, the referring page, approximate origin at country level, device type, browser and screen size. None of this allows you to be identified.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest is understanding which content is needed. Since no cookies are set and no personal data is stored, no consent is required and there is consequently no cookie banner.

External Services

This website loads no external fonts and no external maps; all fonts are self-hosted. Exactly two things are loaded from other servers:

  • The analytics script from umami.ittrail.cloud, on every page. That server is operated by IT-Trail GmbH, see the section above.
  • The ALTCHA widget for contact form spam protection, on the contact page only. The script comes from the public content delivery network jsDelivr (cdn.jsdelivr.net), the proof-of-work challenge from submit.www.ittrail.at. jsDelivr is a third party; loading the contact page necessarily transmits your IP address to its servers.

Your Rights

As a data subject, you have the right to: access, deletion, rectification, portability, withdrawal and objection to data processing, and restriction of processing.

If you believe that data processing violations have occurred, you may file a complaint with us (office@markusfurtlehner.at) or the data protection authority.
